The Minority Design Professional Council (MDPC) was born in 1987 out of a shared determination to transform adversity into opportunity. Founded by Lucious Williams of Dikita Enterprises and visionary leaders like the late Alfredo Mateo of MSO Engineering, MDPC emerged as a collective voice for minority- and woman-owned firms facing systemic barriers in the City of Dallas, Dallas County, DFW Airport, and the State of Texas.

What began as a small group challenging exclusionary practices has grown into a powerful movement. Today, MDPC stands stronger than ever, driving policy change, opening doors once locked, and championing equity for minority professionals in the design and engineering fields. With every success, we celebrate the resilience of our members and the lasting impact of our work on future generations.

Stephen Mason
