The Minority Design Professional Council was founded in 1987 by Lucious Williams of Dikita Enterprises, along with other professionals and managers, including the late Mr. Alfredo Mateo of MSO Engineering.

Our shared experiences of being denied opportunities from the City of Dallas, Dallas County, DFW Airport, and the State of Texas because of being minority owned firms, drove us to challenge the practices and policies that created extreme disadvantages for the many well-equipped minority and women owned firms.

Our membership numbers have increased, and our voices are louder and more powerful today. We have both created new opportunities for ourselves and drastically changed the policies that restricted us in the past. Here at the MDPC, we are proud of what we have accomplished, and we know we will only continue to grow and create change for ourselves and the generations that follow.
